Toni Somma opened Bardot NYC in 1987 as a stained glass studio and retail store, selling glass supplies and architectural stained glass windows at Broad & Brownell Streets, Staten Island, New York. The business was named after her maternal grandmother Martha Bardot-Mañez. The artist uses Martha’s hand made lace to sandblast designs onto glass. When the family moved to Middletown, New Jersey in 1995, Bardot NYC was changed to Bardot NJ. They made and sold stained glass, prints and t-shirts produced by Toni’s son, Zachary Cavaluzzi. He continues to be a graphic designer in New Jersey.
